Nach meinem momentanen Gefühl zu urteilen, komme ich in diesem Werk dem, wie ich in Zukunft mit dem Pinsel malen möchte, sehr nah. Das Karikative und die gewohnten gesättigten Farben aus meinem Graffiti-Hintergrund sind bewusst verschwunden. Die Töne liegen viel näher am Grau und in einem deutlich engeren Helligkeitsbereich – kein Weiß und kein Schwarz. Der Pinselstrich ist grob, und ich versuche, mit allem in ihrem Ausdruck Persönlichkeit und Gefühl einzufangen. Diese Reise ist noch lange nicht zu Ende, wenn es so etwas überhaupt gibt. Doch wie ich Gefühle, Charaktere und auch oft den Mythos des ‚Normalen‘ einfangen möchte, könnte hier seinen Anfang nehmen.

Judging by my current feeling, this work brings me very close to how I want to paint with a brush in the future. The caricatural elements and the familiar saturated colors from my graffiti background have deliberately disappeared. The values are much closer to gray and within a significantly narrower range of contrast – no white and no black. The brushstroke is coarse, and I try to capture personality and feeling in every expression. This journey is far from over, if such a thing even exists. But the way I want to capture emotions, characters, and often the myth of "normal" could find its beginning here.
